Planning a visit to Dupcheshwor Mahadev Temple? Here is the complete darshan timing, Aarti schedule, and puja guide—based on my twice-a-week visits to the temple.
The temple is open every day. Here are the regular opening and closing hours:
| Day | Morning | Evening |
|---|---|---|
| Monday – Sunday | 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM | 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM |
| Saturday | 5:30 AM – 12:30 PM | 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM |
| Monday (Special) | 5:30 AM – 12:30 PM | 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM |
Note: Timings may vary during major festivals (Shivaratri, Teej, Dhanyapurnima). On those days, the temple remains open longer — sometimes all night.
The Ganga Aarti at Dupcheshwor Mahadev happens twice a week. It is a beautiful spiritual ceremony you should not miss.
| Day | Aarti Time | Type |
|---|---|---|
| Saturday | 12:00 Noon | Noon Aarti |
| Monday | 5:00 PM | Evening Aarti (Ganga Aarti) |
Pro Tip: Arrive 30 minutes early to get a good spot. The evening aarti on Monday is especially powerful—with bells, chanting, and oil lamps reflecting off the Tadi River.
I visit Dupcheshwor Mahadev twice a week. The temple is peaceful on weekdays. On Saturdays and Mondays, the aarti attracts more devotees. The stairs can be tiring, but the view from the top makes it worth every step.
